Accessibility Statement
SAVE Project Services is committed to making this website accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We believe that a well-designed website should work for everyone.
Target standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA — the standard referenced by UK public-sector procurement and widely regarded as best practice for commercial websites.
Current conformance status
This website is substantially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The list below summarises what we've verified and any outstanding items with planned remediation.
What we've verified
- Semantic HTML — the site uses proper landmarks (
<nav>,<main>,<section>,<footer>) and a logical heading hierarchy (single h1 per page, followed by h2 and h3). - Alt text — all meaningful images have descriptive alternative text; decorative elements are hidden from assistive technology.
- Form labels — every input on the contact form has an associated
<label>, a clear purpose, and inline validation messages. - Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements (links, buttons, form controls, mobile menu) are reachable via keyboard and have visible focus styles.
- Colour contrast — body text uses a high-contrast light foreground on a dark navy background. Accent colours (sky blue, amber) are used sparingly and paired with text contrast that meets the 4.5:1 ratio requirement for normal text.
- Reduced motion — fade-in animations are subtle (0.7s opacity + small vertical shift) and do not contain flashing, parallax, or seizure-inducing content.
- Responsive design — the layout adapts from 320px to 1920px viewport widths without horizontal scrolling or content clipping.
- Language declaration — every page declares
lang="en".
Known limitations
- We have not yet formally tested with every major screen reader (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver). Routine checks with VoiceOver (macOS) show no blocking issues. Broader screen-reader testing is planned.
- The animated stats strip relies on
IntersectionObserver. Content is visible by default without JavaScript; the animation is a progressive enhancement. - A formal third-party accessibility audit has not yet been commissioned. This is under consideration for a future review cycle.
How to report an accessibility issue
We want to know about any accessibility barrier you encounter. Please email info@saveprojectservices.co.uk with the subject line "Accessibility" and describe:
- Which page you were on (URL if possible)
- What you were trying to do
- What went wrong
- Which assistive technology and browser you were using
We aim to acknowledge all accessibility reports within 5 working days and to provide a remediation plan within 20 working days.
Technical specifications
This site relies on the following technologies for conformance:
- HTML5
- CSS (with custom properties)
- WAI-ARIA where needed (live regions on form status)
- Vanilla JavaScript for enhancements only — core content works without JS
The site has been tested on current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge, plus the most recent previous major version of each.
